I was looking at the date on my phone and I was shocked! It was May 23rd 2010. This date stands out for a few reasons. The first reason is because I arrived in Haiti three months ago to the date. Secondly, I am back in the same house my Adventure in Missions: Haiti Edition ALL began. This is where our first disaster relief teams were housed! The change that time has brought is amazing! We now have a base, our ministries are as set as one could make them, our teams have a schedule that still allows the Holy Spirit to move and we have more staff than I can count on one hand, compared to the five it started with. (Lanny, Geftay, Benny, Rebekah, myself.)

As my daydream came to an end, the volunteer team began to arrive. Before I knew it I found myself in the middle of a crowd of Haitians being asked to lead, “Lord I lift your name on High.” (I was blessed that three Haitian teens took the time to sit down with me and teach me the song word by word, until I knew the whole song completely!) I politely declined. However, I got asked again, and couldn’t resist this time. The 200+ Haitians that’s surrounded me sung together.

Psalms 9:2: I will be glad and rejoice in you;
I will sing praise to your name
I concluded the song and we shouted together in Kreyole, “thank you Jesus, God Bless you, and Hallelujah. Shouting Hallelujah tends to be my favorite. My roommates can confirm that. However, not this time. This time when I was shouting Thank you Jesus, something came over me. I felt a directed connection to God. Forgetting all the people surrounding me, I was shouting to my God THANK YOU!!
Psalms 47:1 Clap your hands, all you nations; shout to God with cries of joy.
