 About mWah…

I was born July 25th, 1985, which makes me 25 this year!! I
can’t believe that I am almost a quarter of a century. Time flies when you have
fun. I had a rough start growing up, but I grew up in the church so God was my
source of strength. In 8th grade I moved into my grandparents house and I got
back on track to where I needed to be. Shortly after graduating high school one
of my friends asked me if I wanted to go on a mission trip. I was like huh,
sounds fun. Well that changed my life. I went to Japan for 3 weeks to teach
English. This adventure fueled my passion for missions.

A few years later, God took me to New Orleans for a week,
Loved it and wanted to go back. So summer of 2008 I went to back and interned
all summer. My time in New Orleans was an adventure to say the least. Working
in Central City around the super dome, you never to knew what to expect.
Everything from prostitution and drugs, to undercover cops jumping out of cars
with guns. The end of my time in New Orleans came to a chaotic end, we didn’t
have projects for the teams that were coming down.

Finally, we were able to
work alongside Beacon of Hope, which is were I meet Drew Adams. I wanted to
stay in New Orleans long term, so I asked Drew if he had any internships
available. He said yes! Next, He got me in touch with Christy Barnard in the
AIM office, and the rest is history. I went back home and was planning my
adventure for summer of 2009. I quickly found out that AIM didn’t have any
openings in New Orleans, but they did in Kentucky. I quickly had to decide if I
wanted to go back to New Orleans, or test the water with this new organization
in Kentucky. I am all about adventure, so after much prayer, I jumped right on
board! My life was forever changed! While in Kentucky I learned how to listen
to God’s voice, that I could silence the voices around me, the voice of the
devil, and my own selfish desires. What a concept! I stayed in Kentucky for 2
weeks before coming home.

Fast forwarding, January 12th 2010 the earthquake happened here in
Haiti. The following Sunday we had a prayer service for Haiti. After service
one of my friends came up to me and said, “hey, your a missionary, do you
know an organization I could go to Haiti with?” I Said, “umm, let me
touch base with some of my contacts and I’ll let you know. Then my wheels
started to spin, I was like I want to go to Haiti too. So I did my research but
no one was really going, and my friends had decided they might not be going
soon. Right about that time, AIM posted on facebook that they need project
leaders in Haiti. About 2 weeks after that post I was on a plane to Santo
Domingo, headed to Haiti.  WOW, GOD is sooo AMAZING!!!
